Mapsource -- OK on several computers??

I have ONE GPS unit (eTrex Vista HCx) and I've unlocked my maps, sent them to the unit, and all's well. However, can I install my mapping data to other computers, unlock them, and use them for my unit's programming, mapping, routing, etc., functions? Or am I stuck using only the installation computer I originally used to set up my Vista HCx? Thanks.

Yes, you can load the same MapSource disk into multiple computers. I have, plus I saved each trip (with specific waypoints and tracks) as separate files too.

I believe if you have multiple GPS units, you might need to get separate unlocking codes for each GPS unit. This is Garmin's idea of keeping one from passing their software around for free.

Thanks

Being able to use multiple computers for my GPS unit is a good thing, for many reasons. Now if only MapSource would have auto-routing capabilities -- from one location to another, then to be able to transfer that route to the GPS unit. (Or can it??) Too much to ask for...

Just highlight two waypoints that are saved in the Waypoints tab (keep the shift down as you highlight) and then either Edit>"New Route using Selected Waypoints" or right-click and "Create Route using Selected Waypoints".

Once the Route has been created you can save it and then plug your GPS in and transfer it to the GPS.

Note: If your GPS has autorouting capabilites, the GPS AutoRouting may not match the Mapsource route.
