Lowrance software shortcomings

I have read in several cusumer reports that the Lowrance software is poor. It has no detail and is way out of date. I am considering buying a H2o or h2oc unit. Can anyone clarify this issue for me. Thanks

i'm no expert on mapping software, but the mapcreate 6.3 is no less detailed than my garmin street pilot software. they both list the streets. guess i'm just glad they both get me where i want to go.

I have an iFinder PhD and bought both a map cartridge and the Mapcreate software. The MapCreate software was a significantly better value for the money.

My version of the software is the Topographical one. I use both 1:50000 scale maps and the gps together. I would rate the map software as good as the paper maps.

The Lowrance software is excellent for my useage.

I have been using Mapcreate 6.3 with my Expedition C for 2 years on my atv. It has more than enough detail for trails. The roads come up fine. Only the newest super highways are not added yet. We atv all over eastern Ont. & even used it last summer on a 1000 km trip of NFLD.
